1. Acceptance of Terms
By using Trekky, you agree to these Terms of Use.
If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
2. Consumer rights (New Zealand)
If you are a consumer in New Zealand, you may have rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and other applicable laws. Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit any rights you have under that legislation where it would be unlawful to do so.
3. Who can use Trekky
You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of legal majority in your place of residence, to create an account and use Trekky. You may only use Trekky for your own personal or professional job search activities and not on behalf of a third party without their permission.
4. What Trekky is
Trekky is a web application designed to help you organize and track your job search activities using a Kanban-style board. Core features are free to use.
AI-powered features (company research, resume generation, interview prep, AI assistant, the autonomous sourcing agent, and the compensation Ledger) require a Pro subscription. This costs $15 USD per month (or $89 USD per year, saving you 51%) and is billed in USD via Stripe.
Please note that Trekky is not a recruiting service, employer, or job placement agency. We do not guarantee any job offers, interviews, or career outcomes.
5. Your account
- You must provide accurate information when creating your account.
- You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for everything that happens under your account.
- You must not share your account credentials with others.
- If you believe your account has been compromised, you must notify us and change your password immediately.
6. What you can't do
When using Trekky, you agree not to:
- Break the law or violate anyone's rights
- Try to hack, overload, or disrupt the service or our systems
- Scrape, copy, or resell the service or its content in an automated or abusive way (for example, using bots or crawlers to mass-copy our interface or datasets)
- Use the app to store or share illegal, harmful, or abusive content
- Interfere with other users' ability to use and enjoy the service
We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly violate these rules.
7. Your content
You own the content you add to Trekky – your notes, application details, company information, and links are all yours.
By using the app, you give us permission to store, process, and display your content as needed to operate the service. This just means we can show you your own data and keep it safe for you.
You are responsible for making sure you have the right to use any content you upload and that it doesn't violate any laws or third-party rights.
Privacy and data. We collect and use your personal information to operate and improve Trekky, provide support, run analytics, and process payments. Some data may be processed by trusted third-party providers (for example, hosting, analytics, AI model providers, and Stripe for payments). For more detail, please see our Privacy Policy.
8. Service availability
Trekky may change, break, or be unavailable from time to time. We'll do our best to keep things running smoothly, but we make no promises.
We may update, pause, or discontinue parts of the service at any time without advance notice. We do not guarantee that the service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or available 24/7.
If we discontinue the service, where reasonably practicable we will give you advance notice and an opportunity to export your data.
9. AI features, the agent & no professional advice
Trekky helps you organize your job search, but it is not legal, financial, or career advice.
You are responsible for your own decisions about job applications, offers, and negotiations. Please consult qualified professionals for specific guidance.
AI-generated content. Tailored resumes, cover letters, classifications, and other AI output are drafts produced by an automated model and may contain mistakes or inaccuracies. You must review every document for accuracy and truthfulness before using it, and you are solely responsible for any content you submit to an employer. Do not use Trekky to misrepresent your experience or qualifications.
The sourcing agent. When enabled, the agent surfaces publicly available job listings for your convenience. We do not guarantee that listings are accurate, current, still open, or free of errors - always verify a role on its original source before applying. You control whether the agent is active, and you can turn it off at any time.
Compensation estimates. Salary benchmarks and underpayment insights in the Ledger are rough, informational estimates - not financial advice or a guarantee of your market value.
AI training and data use.We do not use your private application data (such as resumes, notes, and job applications) to train public machine learning models. We may use aggregated, de-identified usage data to improve Trekky's features.
10. Disclaimer of warranties
Trekky is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. In other words: we hope it works great for you, but we can't legally promise perfection.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising out of or in connection with your use of Trekky.
Our total liability for any claim related to the service will not exceed the total amount you paid to us in the 12 months preceding the claim (e.g. up to $180 USD for a full year of Pro on monthly billing, or $89 USD on annual billing).
Nothing in these Terms is intended to exclude or limit any liability that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law.
12. Payments & Subscriptions
Pro features require a paid subscription at $15 USD per month (or $89 USD per year), billed in USD through Stripe. Pricing is the same globally regardless of your selected market.
Billing:
- Your subscription renews automatically each month.
- You authorise us to charge your payment method on a recurring basis.
- All payments are processed securely by Stripe, our payment provider. We do not store your full card details on our servers.
Cancellation:
- You may cancel at any time from your account settings.
- Cancellation takes effect at the end of your current billing period. You will not be refunded for the remaining period.
Failed payments:
- If a payment fails, your Pro access will be suspended until payment is resolved. Stripe will retry failed charges automatically.
Refunds:
- Except as required by applicable law (for example, the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 in New Zealand), payments are non-refundable.
Price changes:
We may change our subscription pricing or plans in the future. If we do, we will give you reasonable advance notice, and any changes will take effect from your next renewal. If you do not agree with the new pricing, you can cancel before the change takes effect.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of New Zealand. Any disputes relating to these Terms or the service will be resolved by the courts of New Zealand, and you submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of those courts.
14. Changes to these terms
We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.
By continuing to use the service after changes take effect, you agree to the updated terms.
15. Proprietary rights
Trekky is a closed-source proprietary project. The source code is not publicly available for viewing, copying, or redistribution.
You may not copy, modify, distribute, or reverse engineer any part of the service or its source code.
