Terms of Use

Last updated: 1 February 2026

In plain English

Job Tracker helps you organize your job search in one place. This is a personal portfolio project, not a commercial SaaS or recruiter.

Use the app responsibly, don't abuse, scrape, or break it. Your content is yours, but you let us store it so the app can work.

The service is provided "as is" with no guarantees, and our liability is limited.

If anything below feels unclear, open an issue on GitHub, we want to be understandable, not sneaky.

1. Acceptance of Terms

By using Job Tracker, you agree to these Terms of Use.
If you do not agree, please do not use the service.

2. What Job Tracker is

Job Tracker is a personal project designed to help you organize and track your job search activities using a Kanban-style board.

It is not a recruiting service, employer, or job placement agency, and it does not guarantee any job offers or outcomes. Think of it as your personal job search organizer, not a magic job-finding machine.

3. Your account

  • You must provide accurate information when creating your account
  • You are responsible for keeping your login details secure and for everything that happens under your account
  • You should not share your account credentials with others
  • If you believe your account has been compromised, please notify us and change your password immediately

4. What you can't do

When using Job Tracker, you agree not to:

  • Break the law or violate anyone's rights
  • Try to hack, overload, or disrupt the service or our systems
  • Scrape, copy, or resell the service or its content in an automated or abusive way
  • Use the app to store or share illegal, harmful, or abusive content
  • Interfere with other users' ability to use and enjoy the service

We may suspend or end your access if you seriously or repeatedly violate these rules.

5. Your content

You own the content you add to Job Tracker—your notes, application details, company information, and links are all yours.

By using the app, you give us permission to store, process, and display your content as needed to operate the service. This just means we can show you your own data and keep it safe for you.

You are responsible for making sure you have the right to use any content you upload and that it doesn't violate any laws or third-party rights.

6. Service availability

Job Tracker is a portfolio/demonstration project and may change, break, or be unavailable from time to time. We'll do our best to keep things running smoothly, but we make no promises.

We may update, pause, or discontinue parts of the service at any time without advance notice. We do not guarantee that the service will be error-free, uninterrupted, or available 24/7.

7. No professional advice

Job Tracker helps you organize your job search, but it is not legal, financial, or career advice.

You are responsible for your own decisions about job applications, offers, and negotiations. Please consult qualified professionals for specific guidance.

8. Disclaimer of warranties

Job Tracker is provided "as is" and "as available," without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement. In other words: we hope it works great for you, but we can't legally promise perfection.

9. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, we shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages, or any loss of profits or data, arising out of or in connection with your use of Job Tracker.

Our total liability for any claim related to the service will not exceed the amount you paid to use Job Tracker in the past 12 months (which is currently NZD $0, as this is a free portfolio project).

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms of Use from time to time. If we make material changes, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

By continuing to use the service after changes take effect, you agree to the updated terms.

11. Source availability

Job Tracker is a personal portfolio project and the source code may be publicly viewable (for example, on GitHub), but it is not open source and not licensed for reuse or redistribution unless we explicitly say otherwise.

Please do not copy, redistribute, or use the code in your own products without permission.

12. Contact

If you have questions about these terms, please open an issue on our GitHub repository. We're happy to clarify anything that seems confusing.
