Overview
Trekky is a modern application tracking system that transforms your job search chaos into organized success. Use the Kanban board to visualize your pipeline, schedule interviews with calendar integration, and never miss a follow-up with automated reminders.

Gmail Inbox Sync
Opt-in to scan job emails in the background. Trekky auto-detects status changes, highlights action items, and generates reply drafts directly in Gmail.

Quick Start: From Zero to Organized in 5 Minutes
Setup
Create an account and select your default location (e.g., New Zealand or Australia) in the search tab.
Import
Press Shift+R to find jobs. Import 3–5 interesting roles; they land in Wish List first so you can decide what is worth applying to.
Track & Tailor
Press Shift+Q to see your board. Click Build apply kit on a Wishlist card, or open the card to generate a tailored resume and cover letter with the native AI tools.

The Agent tab is your autonomous career copilot. Autopilot finds and tailors roles for you; the Ledger tracks what you're worth and what you've shipped. Both are off until you turn them on.
Add your resume and set target roles & locations in Settings, then arm the agent.
Run a sourcing pass to pull matching roles from public job listings; each is AI-classified by seniority, years, and tech stack.
Tailor a role's resume & cover letter (or let auto mode do it on discovery), review the diff of what changed, then download or approve.
Add approved roles to your Kanban board with the tailored documents attached. Daily caps keep volume in check.
Enter your current role and total comp (base + bonus + equity) and pick your comparison region.
See your total compensation benchmarked against the market, with a conservative alert if you're tracking below.
Log your wins as you ship them - the evidence you'll want for your next raise or interview.
Safety: the agent is disabled by default, reads only public job pages (it never logs in to your accounts), and shows you a diff of every AI edit before a tailored document can be approved - so nothing is ever sent on your behalf without your review.
Getting Started
1. Create Your Account
Sign up with Google OAuth or email/password. Your data is securely stored and only accessible to you.
2. Build Your Pipeline
Two ways to add jobs:
- Search & Import: Use the Job Search tab (
Shift+R) to find roles. Smart filters automatically optimize queries like "junior developer in NZ" for you. Imported roles now land in Wish List by default, because they are potential opportunities until you actually apply.
Bonus: Your active search results and UI filters are automatically saved across all devices. Stale searches will trigger a fresh auto-scrape the next time you log in! - Manual Entry: Press
Cto manually add a job application if you found it elsewhere.
For your first session, aim to add 3–5 roles and move at least one into "Applied" so you immediately see progress.
3. Organize Your Pipeline
Drag job cards between columns as you progress through the interview process. Set priorities to focus on high-value opportunities.
4. Schedule Interviews
Add interview dates and times to your jobs. Optionally sync with Google Calendar for seamless integration with your existing schedule.
5. Set Up Your AI Profile & Generate Resumes
Navigate to /dashboard/profile and paste your master resume text. Once saved, you can open any Job Card and navigate to the "Tailored Resume" tab. Our AI engine will instantly generate a highly-targeted, markdown-formatted version of your resume that matches the scraped job description framework.
6. Chat with Trekky AI (Your Interactive Assistant)
Click the floating compass icon in the bottom right corner of the dashboard to open the Trekky AI assistant.
- Contextual Chat: Drag any job card from your Kanban board and drop it onto either the chat window or the compass button to attach it instantly. Trekky AI will use the job description and your profile to write tailor-fit outreach emails, generate custom cover letters, or practice role-specific interview prep.
- Stage-Aware Actions: Board pills can open the best AI workflow for each stage: apply kit for Wishlist, contacts and follow-up for Applied, round research for Interviewing, and offer strategy for Offer.
- In-App Tool Links: When Trekky AI mentions Generate cover letter, Tailor resume, or Research company, those links open the real native builder tab for the attached job.
- Offer Gameplan: On Offer cards, click Offer gameplan to open the Offers comparison view and Trekky AI together, with the job already attached for negotiation help.
- Flexible Sizing: Click the maximize icon in the chat header to expand Trekky AI into a full sidebar (perfect for long writing sessions) or click minimize to return it to the compact popover.
- General Chat: Clear the attached job context at any time by clicking the close button next to the job name at the top of the chat panel to go back to general conversation.
Google Integrations (Calendar & Gmail Sync)
Connect your Google account to enable interview calendar syncing and background job email tracking. Both integrations are completely optional and opt-in.
Google Calendar Sync
Create, update, and delete interview events on your Google Calendar automatically.
- How to connect: Click your profile menu in the navigation bar, choose Connect Google Calendar, and authorize the
calendar.eventsscope. - What gets synced:Only interviews scheduled inside Trekky with "Sync to Google Calendar" checked. We never read or touch your other personal/work calendar events.
- Disconnecting: Remove calendar permissions instantly from Account Settings, which stops syncing immediately.
Gmail Inbox Sync
Automatically track applications and prepare drafted responses inside Gmail.
- How to connect: Open the Inbox tab (press
Shift+Ror select from sidebar) and click Connect Gmail, then authorize thegmail.readonlyandgmail.composescopes. - Restricted Scope Safety: Trekky is fully CASA-compliant. We only scan message headers and snippets of job-related emails to classify status (offers, rejections, invites). We never read or store full message bodies or attachments.
- Automatic Drafting: For received messages, Trekky writes ready-to-review follow-up drafts in your Gmail Drafts folder. Trekky never sends emails directly on your behalf.
- Data Purging: Clicking Disconnect immediately removes stored message metadata from our servers and revokes access.
